ASHP MEMBER SINCE 1982

“My grandfather owned the Candy Kitchen Pharmacy, and visiting the pharmacy was filled with great memories and experiences,” said Tricia Meyer, Pharm.D., FASHP, FTSHP. “He was the first person the townspeople would go to if the local physician was not available, or for salves or other concoctions that he would compound.”

Tricia, the Regional Director of Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas, joined ASHP in the early 1980s. “If I have been successful in my career as a pharmacist, a pharmacy leader, and a pharmacy clinician, it is 90% due to what I have gained, learned, and connected with from ASHP staff,” she said. “I developed strong personal and professional friendships from sections, councils, and networking groups.”

Tricia has a pharmacy clinical practice niche in anesthesiology. “I have been asked to speak at not only pharmacy national and state meetings, but also for professional national and state meetings for anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, perioperative nurses, and anesthesiologist’s assistants,” said Tricia. “This connection awarded me the opportunity to be the first pharmacist appointed to the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation.”

Tricia was also the recipient of the 2014 ASHP Distinguished Service Award.
