Reasons for selecting this career path and professional interests: I chose pharmacy as a career to make a positive impact on my community and improve the well-being of patients through safe medication use. The profession offers a multitude of career paths as pharmacists can make interventions in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to engage with pharmacy learners and other healthcare disciplines.

Professional Interests:

  • Academia
  • Medication Safety
  • Professional Associations
  • Clinical Pharmacy Management

Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee: My interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee dates to my positive experiences with my local SSHP and ASHP as a student. The amazing opportunities to connect with my peers and develop professionally led to my continued involvement with ASHP through the NPF. While serving in leadership roles within NPF advisory groups, I knew I wanted to continue to grow as a leader in the Forum and help shape the NPF’s strategic goals. I look forward to serving new practitioners across the country and giving back to the profession!

Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner: ASHP provides several resources to new practitioner members. Whether it’s how to make the transition from student to new practitioner or how to find your niche in pharmacy, there’s a resource for everyone. My favorite benefit of being involved is the opportunity to meet so many different members in practice settings both similar and different than my own. I enjoy getting to work with my peers in advisory groups throughout the year and connect in-person at ASHP conferences.
