John D. Hill is the Division Director of Central Pharmacy at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He provides oversight for centralized sterile and non-sterile compounding, automated dispensing cabinet replenishment, patient-specific cartfill, and controlled substances distribution and monitoring. He serves as a preceptor and advisor for residents and students and is actively involved in research and performance improvement projects. His professional interests include data analytics, automation and technology, professional organization involvement, and leadership development.

Dr. Hill received his Pharm.D. from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Pharmacy and a M.S. in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Hill is currently the Vice Chair of the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Advisory Group on New and Emerging Leaders. He has served as the Vice Chair and Chair of the New Practitioners Forum (NPF) Executive Committee and as an alternate Delegate and Delegate in the ASHP House of Delegates representing the ASHP NPF. He has previously served as a member and Chair of multiple NPF advisory groups. Dr. Hill helped create and co-author multiple articles for the New Practitioners Leadership article series published in the New Practitioners Forum column in AJHP.
