Professional Bio: Dr. Justin Moore, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP is a Practice Coordinator for Antimicrobial and Diagnostic Stewardship and an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Justin is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree after receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia. He completed a PGY-1 & PGY-2 ID Pharmacy Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His current role includes antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship standardization within the health-system, infectious diseases clinical consult services in immunocompromised hosts, and clinical outcomes research.


Reasons for selecting this career path and professional interests: I have been fortunate to have tremendous mentors who demonstrate the value of medication expertise in providing nuanced therapy plans for patients with infections. Along with research opportunities, these relationships and experiences helped me understand that infectious diseases would allow me solve clinical puzzles every day. My older sister is also a clinical pharmacist and had a huge impact on my career path as she highlights how our profession improves the healthcare team and patient care.

Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee: Serving as a member and Chair of the Membership and Outreach Advisory Group has been one of the standout experiences of my career as a new practitioner. I have connected with peers and mentors across the country and expanded my clinical and professional expertise. The New Practitioners Forum has been a great space to develop my leadership skills and I look forward to promoting an authentic, inclusive professional home where the diverse voices of ASHP members are heard, welcomed, and celebrated!


Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner: I am extremely grateful for the mentorship and professional opportunities that I have received as a result of my involvement with ASHP. Our profession is truly one that improves the lives of patients and those we work with, and I recognize that each time I work with other ASHP members and staff. The New Practitioners Forum helps early career pharmacists expand their networks, advocate for change within our communities, and advance the profession of pharmacy to better serve the healthcare field.
