Biographical Information:

Dr. Storvick received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters of Business Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Since completing her PGY1 and PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration residency at Aurora Health Care, Dr. Storvick has held multiple leadership roles, including inpatient pharmacy manager, director of ambulatory oncology pharmacy services, and system pharmacy business development coordinator and most recently director of ambulatory pharmacy services at Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee. The variety of practice settings have made her passionate about transitions of care and a patient centric care model.

Current employment, practice, and academic responsibilities:

Dr. Storvick is currently the Director of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services at Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee. Advocate Aurora Health is one of the 10 largest not-for-profit, integrated health systems in the United States and a leading employer in the Midwest with more than 75,000 employees, including more than 22,000 nurses and the region’s largest employed medical staff and home health organization. A national leader in clinical innovation, health outcomes, consumer experience and value-based care, the system serves nearly 3 million patients annually in Illinois and Wisconsin across more than 500 sites of care.

Dr. Storvick oversees operations and pharmacy service development for several Greater Milwaukee Area retail pharmacies and ambulatory clinics. She also serves as a liaison between the clinics and pharmacies, designing growth and business development initiatives throughout the system.

Significant projects and accomplishments:

Dr. Storvick was part of an oncology clinic merger, where multiple pharmacists were embedded in-person and virtually at 24 oncology clinics across Wisconsin to provide service to more than 30 oncologists.

Dr. Storvick was a key leader in organizing Advocate Aurora Health’s first large-scale flu clinic. The clinic provided hundreds of immunizations for the community at more than 25 Milwaukee-area sites, and Dr. Storvick was responsible for coordinating supplies and filling shifts with pharmacy team members.

Please describe your professional involvement with ASHP:

Dr Storvick first joined ASHP as a student while pursuing residencies. She was honored to be selected as the resident member for the ASHP Commission on Credentialing during her PGY-2 Residency. She continues to be an active member participating in a variety of ASHP meetings and values the opportunities for ongoing education and the regular updates provided by ASHP about current industry topics.

What value do you think ASHP provides to community-based pharmacy practitioners?

ASHP provides an extremely valuable platform covering all spectrums of medication use in a wide-range of patient transitions. ASHP meetings are invaluable, allowing for education, networking and furthering the success of everyone's practice.

There are always opportunities at transition of care points and this new Section of Community Pharmacy Practitioners will allow ASHP to focus on those areas and make an even greater impact.

What advice would you provide for individuals new to your area of expertise?

Design the practice of your dreams and don’t lose sight of it. Learn from the obstacles that stand in your way and ask for help and advice from mentors to make that dream a reality.
