Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area

"The biggest thing I would recommend is to get involved. It does not matter if it is in local, state or national organizations; there are so many great practitioners out there that are willing to give advice or help you develop professionally. Networking and building relationships with colleagues across the country can provide so many opportunities for collaboration, formation of initiates, and advancement of the profession."

Involvement in ASHP

"I initially became involved with ASHP as part of my residency search but have continued to seek more involvement in multiple areas of the organization. I have really enjoyed the networking opportunities and the ability to work with peers all over the country on initiatives to advance the profession. I hope to continue to have a positive impact and learn from well-established members of the pharmacy community."

ASHP’s Value to Members

"As one of the largest pharmacy organizations, ASHP has the ability to help set the practice standards, identify areas for professional development, and drive changes based on the wants and needs of its members. ASHP also facilitates great learning and networking opportunities with a much larger scope than any other organization I have encountered. These services continue to adapt and expand as the landscape of pharmacy practitioners continues to evolve."
