Rena Gosser is the assistant director of specialty pharmacy services and medication access at the University of Washington (UW) Medicine. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. She is responsible for the coordination, quality, clinical outcomes, and financial performance of the specialty pharmacy program. She also oversees the prior authorization and financial clearance teams at UW Medicine. Gosser is actively engaged in the education of future pharmacists, serving as a resident preceptor and lecturer/co-course master for the Foundations of Being a Pharmacist course for first-year pharmacy students at the UW School of Pharmacy.

Gosser graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency and PGY2 medication use safety and policy residency at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. She is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and is a credentialed and privileged clinical pharmacist at UW Medicine. Throughout her career, she has led medication use optimization and pharmacist practice advancement initiatives across the continuum of care for large health systems. Her professional interests include pharmacist practice advancement, population health, medication safety, and pharmacoequity.

Gosser is an active member and recognized Fellow of ASHP. She currently serves the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists (SCSS) as vice chair for the Section Advisory Group (SAG) on Clinical Leadership. She has previously served SCSS as Vice Chair and Chair for the SAG on Emerging Sciences. Gosser has also served ASHP as chair of the Council on Therapeutics, a member of the ASHP and SCSS Committee on Nominations, a faculty member for the ASHP Board Recertification for Pharmacotherapy, Geriatrics, and Critical Care, and as a Washington state delegate in the ASHP House of Delegates. She is an author and assistant editor for the DiPiro Pharmacotherapy textbook, distributed internationally and used by a variety of healthcare professions and colleges/schools of pharmacy.
