NPF Executive Committee Message December 2017

Caroline Sierra
Pharm.D., BCPPS

Hello New Practitioners,

The 2017 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting is fast approaching, and we on the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee are excited about the great opportunities at MCM that are geared toward residents and new practitioners. This programming is designed to help residents and new practitioners grow in and transition throughout the many roles we have in our first five years of pharmacy practice. It also provides resources and networking opportunities focused on clinical and career development for those who are still early in their careers.

The resident and new practitioner programming is concentrated on Sunday, December 3rd and is divided into two tracks: Career Development and Clinical Development. These continuing education sessions highlight topics relevant to those early in practice, including: Age-Defying Communication: Navigating the Generational Differences in the Pharmacy Workforce and The Next Wave: Specializing in Ambulatory Care. Each track has five sessions scheduled throughout the day. The New Practitioner Forum Executive Committee will be available on Sunday to provide resources and information on opportunities for new practitioners.

Networking opportunities for new practitioners exist throughout the meeting as well. The Wednesday 12/6/17 evening event at Universal Studios is a great way to meet new practitioners from around the country in a relaxed environment. The New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee will also be having an informal, happy hour event on Sunday 12/3/17 at The Pub from 5:30 – 7:00pm. Come by and say hello to the Executive Committee and network with other new practitioners. If you have any questions about these events, don’t hesitate to email us.

We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!

All the best,
Caroline
