Hello New Practitioners,
On behalf of the ASHP New Practitioners Forum (NPF) Executive Committee, we hope this message finds you happy and healthy. As we approach the end of 2020, we reflect on what has been a very challenging year for our health-systems and community. We are reminded of the importance of people and connections in our work and lives. There is no doubt that the 2020 Midyear Clinical Meeting will look different this year than previous years; however, we are confident that the meeting will continue to serve as a place that brings people together to network and connect.
We invite you to join us at the NPF networking session on Sunday, December 6th from 1-2pm ET. This interactive session will provide the opportunity to “meet” with peers and share challenges, strategies, and ideas specific to where you are in your career! We also encourage you to take advantage of additional Resident and New Practitioner programming as you build your virtual meeting schedule.
To help you get the most out of the virtual Midyear Clinical Meeting, check out these resources developed by NPF advisory group members:
- Tips for a Successful Virtual Midyear – Never “attended” a virtual meeting? No problem. This infographic will guide you through work space, lighting, technology considerations and much more. You will look like a virtual meeting pro!
- ASHP Interview Guide for 2020-2021 PPS Virtual Interviews – Personnel Placement Service (PPS) interviews will take place between Sunday, December 6th and Thursday, December 10th. This checklist will help you put your best (virtual) foot forward!
As you navigate this unfamiliar virtual meeting and interviewing process, remember you are not alone! You can reach out to your NPF community through ASHP Connect, by email, or by joining the New Practitioners Forum twitter chat on Thursday, December 3rd from 8-9 pm ET. Start by following @ASHP_NPF to get reminders and updates. On the day of the event, use the hashtag #AskASHPNPF to ask questions about anything from the residency showcase to networking and everything in between!
We look forward to being “together” at the Midyear Clinical Meeting and to a new year full of many wonderful connections.
