Hello New Practitioners,
As a new practitioner, there are many ways to become involved with ASHP. I have found my own involvement with ASHP to be rewarding, as it has provided me with valuable perspectives outside of my daily role as a new practitioner. Serving as a leader with ASHP has contributed to my professional growth by affording me the opportunity to maintain an ideal level of professional engagement and knowledge regarding topics that impact our profession and my new practitioner peers.
While serving on an ASHP Council or Committee, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other new practitioners to influence professional policy and practice standards that impact our profession in a positive manner. Additionally, New Practitioner Forum Executive Committee members direct activities and programs of the Forum and advise ASHP on ways to better meet the needs of our peers.
If you have ever considered getting involved, or becoming more involved, with ASHP, now is the time to express your interest through submission of a recommendation for appointment! ASHP is currently accepting new practitioner recommendations for appointments to its various councils, committees and advisory bodies for the June 2018 – May 2019 term. Opportunities for New Practitioners exist with the following:
- Education and Workforce Development
- Pharmacy Management
- Pharmacy Practice
- Public Policy
- Affiliate Relations
- New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee
The deadline for submission is November 15th, 2017. A link to the submission survey can be found here. I encourage you to consider these opportunities to become involved and make a positive impact on our profession!
