Reinstate Your Lapsed CPhT Credential
The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) allows technicians originally certified in 1997 but with expired certificates to apply for reinstatement. Technicians who received their original CPhT designation before 1997 and those whose certification has been revoked cannot participate in the reinstatement program.
Applicants must have completed 20 hours of continuing-education courses, including two hours of pharmacy law. All courses must have been completed between the original certification date and the application deadline date. No more than 10 hours of inservice projects can be substituted for continuing-education courses.
Technicians interested in reinstatement have until Dec. 31 to submit an application, a $100 fee, and a copy of their PTCB certificate or wallet card to the board. The reinstated certification expires after one year.
For additional information or to download a reinstatement application, visit the PCTB Web site at www.ptcb.org.
