ASHP Speaks to I.V. Saline & Other Drug Shortages on Marketplace Radio

An interview with ASHP spokesperson Cynthia Reilly, B.S. Pharm., Director of Medication Safety and Quality, was featured by National Public Radio’s Marketplace in a recent story about drug shortages, “U.S. is Running Low on Some Basic Medicines.”   The story was broadcast March 26 on NPR radio stations nationwide, and posted on the Marketplace website, which has more than 7.5 million visitors each month.  The story also quoted ASHP member Erin R. Fox, Pharm.D., FASHP, Director of the Drug Information Service at the University of Utah, which collaborates with ASHP to maintain its drug shortages list. ASHP’s Drug Shortages Resource Center provides valuable tools to pharmacists and other clinicians, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
