ASHP Opens Search for New AJHP Editor in Chief

ASHP is conducting a search for a new Editor in Chief of AJHP, the organization’s official publication, to replace C. Richard Talley, B.S.Pharm., who will retire in December.
Talley, Assistant Vice President, joined ASHP in 1978 as Senior Assistant Editor of AJHP and has served as chief editor of AJHP since 1992. Before coming to ASHP, Talley was Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Richard has done a superb job of leading AJHP as ASHP evolved and the publication needs of our membership continued to develop,” said ASHP CEO Paul Abramowitz, Pharm.D., Sc.D. (Hon.), FASHP. “His leadership has elevated AJHP’s impact as the nation’s preeminent peer-reviewed pharmacy journal.”

Richard’s many contributions include development of ASHP’s website since 1997, bringing AJHP online in 2004, establishing the ASHP Daily Briefing, and launching the podcast series, AJHP Voices. The author of numerous articles and editorials, Richard also generously mentored other authors and editors and has served as the primary preceptor for the George P. Provost Editorial Internship since 1992.

“With this search, we look forward to transformatively building on the editorial legacies of Richard and his predecessors, William A. Zellmer, George P. Provost, and Donald E. Francke,” Abramowitz added.
