CPPA Seeks Comments on New Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation Standards
“The public comment period is an important part of the standards development process, and CPPA looks forward to receiving input, opinions, and questions on the proposed standards,” stated Lynnae Mahaney, B.S.Pharm., MBA, FASHP, CPPA Executive Director.
The CPPA, a partnership among ASHP, the American Pharmacists Association, and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, drafted the standards with broad stakeholder input. It is now seeking additional perspectives from pharmacists, healthcare system stakeholders, payers, specialty medication manufacturers, consumer groups, and patients.
To review the draft standards and submit comments, click here. Public comments are due no later than 5 p.m. CST/6 p.m. EST, October 17, 2014. The Specialty Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Program will be available by the end of this year.
