Jolowsky Elected Treasurer, Powell and Tryon Elected to Board of Directors

Nishaminy (Nish) Kasbekar, PharmD, BSPharm, FASHP, has been elected as ASHP's new President-elect. Christene M. Jolowsky, BSPharm, MS, FASHP, FMSHP, was elected as ASHP Treasurer and Vickie L. Powell, PharmD, MS, BSPharm, FASHP, and Jennifer E. Tryon, PharmD, MS, FASHP, were elected to serve on the ASHP Board of Directors.

Kasbekar is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. She recently completed a term on the ASHP Board of Directors. Her ASHP service also includes terms as Chair of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Advisory Group on Multi-Hospital Pharmacy Executives and the Council on Pharmacy Practice. She also served on the Women in Pharmacy Leadership Steering Committee, the AJHP Editorial Board, and was a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates for over eight years. She is Fellow of ASHP and a past President of the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Delaware Valley Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Jolowsky is the Senior Pharmacy Director for Hennepin Healthcare System, Minneapolis. She recently completed a term as Treasurer of ASHP and the ASHP Foundation. Her past ASHP service includes a term as President in 2014-2015, and as member of the ASHP Board of Directors. She has also served on numerous ASHP councils, committees, and task forces and as a volunteer leader for local and state health-system chapters. She has been a Minnesota delegate to ASHP’s House of Delegates and served as President of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP).  She is a Fellow of both ASHP and MSHP.

Powell is the Site Director of Pharmacy Operations at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She served as a member of the ASHP Council on Education and Workforce Development, the Council on Pharmacy Practice, and the ASHP Task Force on Racial Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and as Chair of the ASHP Advocacy and PAC Advisory Committee. Her ASHP service also includes the ASHP Policy-Process CQI Special Committee, the Board of Canvassers, the Committee on Nominations, and as a New York delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates. She is a Fellow of ASHP and a past President of the New York City Society and New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists.

Tryon is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Henry Ford Health in Detroit. Her ASHP service includes terms as Chair of the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders, the Council on Pharmacy Management, and several section advisory groups. She also served in the ASHP House of Delegates. She is a past President of the Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has held other elected positions in multiple pharmacy associations.

Kasbekar and Jolowsky will begin their terms immediately. Powell and Tryon will begin their three-year terms in June 2023.
