Pharm.D. Candidate 2023

Ella Domingo is a first-year student pharmacist at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she also completed her two undergraduate years in pre-pharmacy. She is involved in Purdue's Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists as the Pharmacy Student Council Representative and as a KIDS Committe Co-Chair where she gives presentations at local elementary schools about drug abuse and media readiness. Ella promotes global health initiatives across campus as an active member of Purdue Timmy Global Health and, also through this organization, is a Get Onboard Active Living (GOAL) volunteer for IU Health where she teaches young students about healthy living through nutrition and exercise. She is a pharmacy intern at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana, a Presentation Lead Ambassador for Purdue's Honors College Ambassadors, and a Purdue Student Advisory Board member. Outside of school, she helps with music ministry at her church, enjoys singing and playing different instruments, and loves running and fitness. After pharmacy school, Ella plans on pursuing a residency and is interested in various fields including specializing in cardiology, becoming a clinical faculty member, and further exploring health-system pharmacy administration, and she is incredibly grateful for this internship opportunity to learn from and work with the team at ASHP!

Delaney McGuirt
University of Maryland School of Pharmacy
Pharm.D. Candidate 2023

Delaney McGuirt is a first-year student pharmacist at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her pathway to pharmacy has been somewhat unique, starting off her education by receiving a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2015 (go Heels!). Following graduation from UNC, Delaney decided to apply her Radiologic Science degree by entering the workforce. She joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH), working in clinical research and medical imaging. Specifically, she spent the last two years in a cardiac research lab. Her passion for cardiology stemmed from the lab, and continues today as she hopes to pursue a pharmacy specialty in cardiology. Delaney is considering a number of different post-graduate training opportunities and careers following pharmacy school, such as residency training, pursuing an industry fellowship or learning more about advocacy and policy development. Delaney is very active in her school’s Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists, serving as a co-historian. She is also involved with AMCP and PLS, recognizing her leadership. Outside the classroom, she loves reading, hiking, and has recently gotten into bouldering! She looks forward to getting to know and work with ASHP staff and volunteer leaders all summer!
