SPEAKERS

Autumn ZuckermanAutumn Zuckerman, PharmD, BCPS, CSP, is the Director of Health Outcomes and Research at Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In this role, she leads a team of pharmacists and researchers in studying the specialty patient journey. Through strategic collaborations, Dr. Zuckerman and team utilize research findings to drive innovative, evidence-based practices changes that improve patient care. Dr. Zuckerman’s research spans across specialty disease states and has included research in the areas of human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis C, multiple sclerosis, pulmonary arterial hypertension, oncology and hematology, lipidology, and osteoporosis. She is also an affiliate professor at University of Tennessee College of Health Sciences, Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, and Belmont University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Zuckerman received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy, then completed two years of ASHP-accredited residency training at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System VA, specializing in ambulatory care. 

Melissa OrtegaAs a pharmacy executive, Melissa Ortega, PharmD, MS, FSHP, has focused her career on championing pharmacy practice advancement initiatives locally and nationally across the care continuum. Melissa leads Tufts Medicine community/retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacy services, in-clinic pharmacist services, medication access services, transitions of care, population health initiatives, home infusion, and payer contracting. Melissa has expanded clinical and outpatient programs to enhance care transition and medication therapy management. She has published research on leadership, specialty pharmacy, technology, & policy.

Jennifer DonovanAs Vice President of Clinical Services, Jennifer (Jen) Donovan, PharmD, is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing clinical programs to ensure each provides the highest quality of patient care. This requires clinical programs to be based on best practices while complying with accreditation, payor, and manufacturer requirements. As part of her responsibilities, she works closely with the accreditation, trade relations, payor compliance, and clinical services teams.  Before joining Shields, Jen was the Associate Dean for the School of Pharmacy – Worcester/Manchester and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In addition, Jen was a clinical research associate for The Meyers Primary Care Institute. Jen earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed a pharmacy practice residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
