Listen to our Advocacy Roundtable Discussion with ASHP’s government relations team regarding our top advocacy priorities. This discussion with Tom Kraus, vice president of government relations, Jillanne Schulte Wall, senior director of Health and Regulatory Policy, and Kyle Robb, director of state policy advocacy, provides ASHP members with an inside look at federal advocacy topics impacting the practice of pharmacy. Topics discussed include pharmacist provider status, 340B, elimination of the X-waiver for buprenorphine prescribing, white bagging, and more.

SPEAKERS

Jillanne Schulte WallJillanne Schulte Wall is the Senior Director of Health & Regulatory Policy for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, MD. She serves as ASHP’s primary liaison to federal regulatory agencies and, in conjunction with other members of the Government Relations team, develops and communicates of ASHP’s positions on federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance related to the profession of pharmacy.  Additionally, Jillanne works closely with stakeholders in pharmacy, medicine, manufacturing, and patient advocacy on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to ASHP members.

Kyle RobbKyle Robb, PharmD, BCPS currently serves as Director of State Policy & Advocacy at ASHP. Kyle supports ASHP members and State Affiliates as they seek to advance the practice of pharmacy through engagement with state government.

Kyle is an alumnus of the Virginia Commonwealth University/American College of Clinical Pharmacy/American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Congressional Health Care Policy Fellow Program and served as a Health Policy Fellow on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions. Prior to working in policy, Kyle was a pharmacist at the University of Virginia Health System.

Tom KrausTom Kraus is Vice President for Government Relations at ASHP. He is a graduate of University of Michigan (BS Biology), Georgetown University Law Center (Doctor Of Law), and The Johns Hopkins University (MHS, Health Policy).

Tom previously served as the Chief of Staff and Associate Commissioner for Legislation at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He was also a senior policy advisor to Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Tom Harkin on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, where he served as Deputy Staff Director for Health.
