This podcast will provide members a refresher on the current implementation status of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act, otherwise known as track and trace. We’ll get recommendations from two leading experts on preparing for full DSCSA implementation in November 2023 and talk about what to expect as we approach that date.

SPEAKERS

Joe MakiJoe Maki, PharmD, MS, is the vice president of pharmacy at Novant Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His responsibilities include leading specialty, ambulatory, infusion, and cancer pharmacy teams along with driving the pharmacy business strategy for the Novant Health pharmacy enterprise. He received his PharmD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a 2-year health system pharmacy administration residency/MS at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.

Raymond LakeRaymond Lake, RPh, MS, is the corporate director of Pharmacy Operations with MedStar Health, a 10-hospital system in Maryland/Washington, DC, where he has practiced for 17 years. Raymond received his BS Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut and then completed an ASHP-accredited residency at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC while obtaining his MS from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. His role involves pharmacy supply chain oversight, technology assessment and regulatory compliance.

Jillanne Schulte WallJillanne Schulte Wall is the Senior Director of Health & Regulatory Policy for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, MD. She serves as ASHP’s primary liaison to federal regulatory agencies and, in conjunction with other members of the Government Relations team, develops and communicates of ASHP’s positions on federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance related to the profession of pharmacy.  Additionally, Jillanne works closely with stakeholders in pharmacy, medicine, manufacturing, and patient advocacy on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to ASHP members.
