Community Pharmacy: New CMS DIR Rules Explained

Jillanne Schulte WallJillanne Schulte Wall is the Senior Director of Health & Regulatory Policy for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, MD. She serves as ASHP’s primary liaison to federal regulatory agencies and, in conjunction with other members of the Government Relations team, develops and communicates of ASHP’s positions on federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance related to the profession of pharmacy.  Additionally, Jillanne works closely with stakeholders in pharmacy, medicine, manufacturing, and patient advocacy on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to ASHP members.

Donald Carroll is Associate Chief of Pharmacy / Connected Care at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. He has been with Cleveland Clinic since 1998. In prior positions at the Clinic he has served as Administrator of Home Infusion Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy. He led teams of caregivers to develop and open Home Respiratory Therapy (2005), Cleveland Clinic Specialty Pharmacy (2014), and assumed leadership responsibilities for the Clinic’s network of 20 ambulatory pharmacies (2015) and the Center for Connected Care (2016).

Sandra DurleySandra F. Durley is the Senior Associate Director, Ambulatory Care Pharmacies at UI Health & Clinical Assistant Professor at the UIC College of Pharmacy. Dr. Durley has worked in leadership roles for over 30 years coordinating work teams from culturally diverse backgrounds. She has extensive ambulatory pharmacy operations experience in various areas including compliance, quality improvement, reimbursement and compensation for pharmacy services, increasing pharmaceutical access to underserved populations; 340B compliance & program optimization.

Gina LuchenGina Luchen serves as the ASHP director of Member Relations for the Sections of Pharmacy Educators and Community Pharmacy Practitioners. In this role, Dr. Luchen leads initiatives that influence practice and education across the care continuum. Dr. Luchen completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas, a postgraduate year 1 Community-Based Residency with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and Balls Food Stores, and the Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management at ASHP.
