Joe Marchiano is a Lead Clinical Pharmacist in Geriatrics at Summa Health in Akron, OH and an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He completed his PGY-2 residency in Internal Medicine and Academia at the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and NEOMED, and he earned his Pharm.D. at Ohio Northern University. Joe currently serves as the NPF Liaison for the SCSS SAG on Clinical Leadership for the 2021-2022 term.
Rena Gosser is the Clinical Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager at Harborview Medical Center - University of Washington Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy in Seattle, WA. She currently serves ASHP as the Chair of the Council on Therapeutics and member of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists Clinical Leadership Section Advisory Group. Dr. Gosser’s professional interests include pharmacist practice advancement, health equity, and medication safety, strategic prescribing.
Katie Derry, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP is a Pharmacy Specialist for Medication Use Policy and Residency Program Director (RPD) for the PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy program UC San Diego Health. Her primary responsibilities include formulary management, medication utilization and optimization, resident research coordination, and bedside ICU care. Her primary research interests anticoagulation reversal, pharmacotherapy of liver disease, and sedation and analgesia management in the ICU.
Bhavik Shah earned his doctorate of pharmacy from Rutgers University, and completed post-graduate training in pharmacy practice and infectious diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is an associate professor at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy and co-director of the Pharmacology thread in the JeffMD curriculum at SIdney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. He is an active member of ASHP and ACCP. Within ASHP, he has served as vice-chair and is currently the chair of the Year-Round Educational Steering Committee for 2020-2021.
Karen McConnell is the System Vice President of the Pharmacy Enterprise and Chief Pharmacy Office for CommonSpirit Health, a large IDN with over 140 hospitals in 21 states. Dr. McConnell graduated from the University of Missouri - Kansas City with her Doctor of Pharmacy and from Grand Canyon University with her Master of Business Administration. Prior to her current role, she was a clinical pharmacy specialist and clinical director. She is a fellow of ASHP.
Brittany Tschaen, PharmD, M.S., is a clinical pharmacist at ChristianaCare, DE. After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy from Jefferson College of Pharmacy, she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and a PGY2 residency in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She is currently serving as a member of the Section Advisory Group (SAG) on Clinical Leadership and as the Delaware Society of Health-System Pharmacists (DSHP) President-Elect.
