ASHP Specialty Pharmacy State of Practice in Hospitals and Health Systems – Future Directions Summit

The ASHP Specialty Pharmacy State of Practice in Hospitals and Health Systems – Future Directions Summit will bring together key stakeholders to discuss how to advance health-system specialty pharmacy practice to optimize patient health outcomes. The interprofessional summit will feature focused discussions and recommendations on key areas in specialty pharmacy. Speakers will share an outline of the summit and the anticipated outcomes.

SPEAKERS

JoAnn StubbingsJoAnn Stubbings is Clinical Associate Professor Emerita in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy in Chicago, IL. She is former Associate Director, Specialty Pharmacy Services at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. JoAnn is the Immediate Past Chair of ASHP’s Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners and serves as the Liaison to the Educational Steering Committee. She is Chair of the Section’s 2021 Committee on Nominations. JoAnn has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, consulting, academia, and ambulatory care pharmacy. She has numerous publications and presentations on specialty pharmacy models of care, national drug expenditures, the 340B Drug Pricing Program, specialty pharmacy, REMS, ambulatory care pharmacy policy, Medicare Part D, and business planning. JoAnn earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She is a registered pharmacist in Ohio and Illinois.

Udobi CampbellDr. Udobi Campbell is the Regional Director of Pharmacy for the Triangle West region of UNC Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She also serves as the Executive Associate Dean for Clinical Practice at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Before joining UNC Health, Dr. Campbell served in leadership roles for 12-years at Duke University Hospital, also in North Carolina. More recently, she has chaired the Steering Committee for the ASHP Specialty Pharmacy Summit.

Matthew RimMatthew Rim is the Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy. Rim’s ASHP involvement includes the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners (SSPP) Executive Committee, SSPP Section Advisory Group on Business Development, author of several articles published by AJHP including national trends in prescription expenditures (2019-2020), recipient of the 2015 ASHP Best Practices Award, and chapter President, ASHP-SSHP (2009).
