COVID INTERACT - INTeraction Education Focused on Real-Time Assessment, Data Collection, and Timely Training

In this episode, Renee Robinson, Cathy Oliphant and Mary Spatafore discuss the INTERACT program, whose goals are to better prepare rural healthcare providers to provide safe and effective COVID-19 outpatient treatment, improving healthcare service utilization and health outcomes of patients diagnosed with COVID-19. This includes assessing and meeting unmet drug-drug training and support needs for pharmacists treating patients for COVID-19 in the outpatient setting.

SPEAKERS

Cathy OliphantCathy Oliphant, PharmD received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Infectious Diseases/Microbiology Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Oliphant is a Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Idaho State University. She practices at St. Luke’s Health System in internal medicine, infectious diseases and COVID recovery clinic. Dr. Oliphant was a panelist for ECHO Idaho COVID/Current Infections.

Renee RobinsonRenee Robinson, PharmD, MPH, MSPharm is associate professor, Idaho State University College of Pharmacy and a former commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. She completed her PharmD at the University of Georgia, a residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, an NIH clinical research fellowship, and a pediatric pharmacotherapy fellowship at The Ohio State University. Her research has focused on addressing health disparities of underserved communities, working to establish health equity.

Mary SpataforeMary Spatafore is a second year pharmacy student at Idaho State University College of Pharmacy. Mary plans on completing her PharmD as well as a masters in public health. Mary has an interest in public health and increasing access to healthcare for all.

Vicki BasalygaVicki Basalyga, PharmD, MAS, BCPS, BCPPS is the Director of Member Relations for the Clinical Specialists and Scientists at ASHP. In addition to her Director role, Vicki assists in clinical policy development as the Secretary for the Council on Therapeutics, serves as a representative for ASHP on numerous national clinical initiatives and works with members to create essential tools and resources for leaders, practitioners and educators.
