During this episode of ASHP’s Informatics Bytes podcast, we will describe the current state of autoverification, including the reasons and benefits of implementation. The speakers will also be discussing available tools and challenges that should be addressed when considering implementation.

Rigo Segovia, PharmD, is currently a postgraduate year-2 pharmacy informatics resident at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He earned his PharmD from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and subsequently completed his PGY1 residency training at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida. Rigo also is a member of the Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology’s Section Advisory Group on Clinical Decision Support and Analytics.
Stephen Lemon, PharmD, FCCM, BCCCP, BCPS, is a pharmacy informatics clinical pharmacy specialist at UF Health Shands and has 10+ years of experience translating evidence-based medicine into electronic medical record (Epic) enhancements to improve patient care. Using information technology to solve complex problems is his passion. Stephen collaborates with other professionals to improve patient care through enhancing processes and implementing efficiencies using information technology, and this is his favorite aspect of pharmacy and healthcare.
Derek Pinnell, PharmD, is a pharmacist and a postdoctoral Medical Informatics Fellow at George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City Utah. His work with the VA has involved real-world medication outcomes research leveraging national EMR data, in addition he works with his facilities’ informatics leadership to provide analysis of clinical data that target metrics for patient outcome improvement to facility leaders.
