What is the Metaverse?

In a short period of time, the “metaverse” has become a buzzword in the technology industry and beyond. The question in many people’s minds is, “when will the metaverse hit me?” Join us as we explore what the metaverse is today and how pharmacy could be impacted.  

SPEAKERS

Charity LoputCharity M. Loput, PharmD, CPHIMS, (She/Her) is a manager on the Expanse Provider Product team at HCA Healthcare in Nashville, Tennessee. She received her PharmD from the University of Georgia, completed her postgraduate year 1 residency at Erlanger Health System, and PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics residency. Her main focus areas include patient safety, care delivery, systems design, and supporting strategic initiatives, including standardization and delivering evidence-based care within the 180+ hospital system.


Clay DanielsClay Daniels, PharmD, PhD, BCPPS, DPLA, (He/Him), is an EHR application analyst at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He received his PhD in Microbiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his PharmD from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. He completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Children’s of Alabama and a PGY2 Medication-Use Safety Residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His practice and research focus is on the safety of clinical decision support. 


Jenny RadkeJenny Radke, PharmD, (She/Her) is the current inpatient pharmacy automation supervisor and inpatient informatics-operations liaison at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Radke received her PharmD from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her PGY1 and PGY2 Informatics residencies at OHSU. Her professional interests include clinical decision support, cardiology, medication safety, academia, and internal medicine. 


Ann VoAnn Vo, PharmD, BCPS, (She/Her) is an applications analyst – pharmacist at VCU Health. She received her BS in Bioinformatics from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 and obtained her PharmD in 2019. Afterwards, she completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Informatics Residency with the Aurora Health Care Metro, Inc. program. Her practice interests include clinical decision support. Ann is involved with the SOPIT Section Advisory Group on Clinical Decision Support and Analytics.
