Health care in the United States is one of the most robust and advanced delivery of care systems in the world. However, the nation is plagued by health disparities, leaving many in our society with suboptimal outcomes and quality of life. The concept of health disparities is complex and is evolving as research continues. This podcast will discuss the role of pharmacy in supporting and caring for patients experiencing health disparities.

Vivian Bradley Johnson, PharmD, MBA, (she/her) is the senior vice president of clinical services at Parkland Health in Dallas, Texas where she oversees pharmacy, radiology, respiratory, clinical dietary, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and laboratory services. Dr. Johnson has spent over 38 years providing healthcare services to the underserved in Dallas County. Dr. Johnson is a member of the ASHP Board of Directors. Dr. Johnson attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, School of Pharmacy, attained her PharmD degree from Mercer University, and an MBA from University of Dallas.
Sebastian Hamilton, PharmD, MBA, (he/him) is chief pharmacy officer of operations and community & ambulatory partnerships for the outpatient pharmacy division at Boston Medical Center and leads a pharmacy team of over 250. Dr. Hamilton also serves on the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy. Previously, Dr. Hamilton worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for 15 years. He holds a BS in Pharmacy from Long Island University, an MBA in Health Care Administration from Wilmington University, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida.
Tyffani T. Wingfield, PhD, MA is the director for the ASHP Leadership Center. Dr. Wingfield has over 23 years of experience working closely with organizational leaders in promoting dynamic teams/culture, developing policies and communications strategies, and advancing membership engagement. Dr. Wingfield has extensive knowledge in leadership including a Master of Arts degree in higher education administration and supervision and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organizational management with a focus in executive leadership.
