As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the way hospitals and health-systems approach daily activities, many institutions are looking to move pharmacy order verification responsibilities to remote locations. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire built and managed a remote pharmacy team prior to the pandemic and has been able to leverage this experience to maintain their pharmacy operations during these challenging times.

James Blackmer s a Pharmacy Manager at Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Center. He completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at Cleveland Clinic, while completing a Master of Science (MS) in HSPA at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). Dr. Blackmer received his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Kentucky. Prior to starting his role at Cleveland Clinic James held a role as Pharmacy Manager at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Matthew J. Maughan, is the current Director of Pharmacy at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and his PGY 1&2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Matthew recently completed his Masters of Health Care Delivery Science at Dartmouth College.
Dr. Marva Williams-Lowe, Pharm.D, MHA, is Senior Director of Hospital & Clinic Pharmacy Operations at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, NH. She received her PharmD from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, her MHA from Ohio University, and is a 2017 inaugural Carol Emmott Fellow. Marva’s professional interests include hospital operations, medication management and compliance, quality improvement, leadership mentoring, and education. Her professional service includes terms as a former board member and current member of the New Hampshire Society of Health-System Pharmacists and as a current trustee on the Board of Trustees for Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. Marva is committed to community outreach and serves as a Community Health Ambassador for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Partners for Community Wellness, mentor with the Equity Leaders Fellowship, and community advocate for health equity.
Staci A. Hermann, PharmD, MS, was named Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health’s Chief Pharmacy Officer in 2018. She earned her PharmD degree from The University of Rhode Island in 2004 and her Master’s in Hospital Pharmacy Administration from The University of Wisconsin-Madison (2007). During that time, she completed a two-year health system administration residency at The University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Hermann was the pharmacy operations and informatics manager at The University of Kansas Hospital from 2007 to 2012. She managed the pharmacy portion of Mass General Brigham’s Epic project in 2013. She returned to pharmacy in 2014 as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy for Tufts Medical Center, and for Lahey Hospital and Clinics in 2015. Dr. Hermann became the System Director of Pharmacy for the D-HH system in 2016. Dr. Hermann’s been actively engaged in professional organizations (Vizient and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) and also serves on the board of her condo association.
