Describe the evolution of the pharmacy enterprise and the changes necessary for sustainability.  Share challenges in designing workforce models and techniques to overcome these challenges. Recognize the resulting workforce models and factors that impacted these changes. Provide examples of communication techniques for success model change. Identify future needs for the pharmacy profession to address landscape changes.

SPEAKERS

Michelle CorradoMichelle Corrado, PharmD, MHA, CPEL, FACHE, FASHP, (she/hers) is system director, Pharmacy Business Operations for Lifespan (Providence, RI). Prior to this, she was VP of Clinical Support Services and Chief Pharmacy Officer for MelroseWakefield Health Care (Melrose, MA). She’s a past president of the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists; serves on ASHP’s Commission on Affiliate Relations; an Adjunct Instructor at MCPHS’ School of Healthcare Business; and co-authored a business case on Medication Access Programs for the 2nd edition of ASHP’s Financial Management for Health-System Pharmacists.

Nick LadellNick Ladell, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, CPEL, (he/him/his) is a 2011 Doctor of Pharmacy graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a 2020 Master’s in Business Administration graduate from UW-Whitewater, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, and Certified Pharmacy Executive Leader. Nick completed a pharmacy administration residency with Aurora Health Care (AHC), now part of Advocate Health. Nick currently serves as the director of pharmacy at the Aurora West Allis Medical Center. His family is a proud owner of the Green Bay Packers.

Venessa GoodnowVenessa Goodnow, PharmD, MBA, CPEL, FASHP, (she/her) is currently the assistant vice president and chief pharmacy officer of the Jackson Health System in Miami, FL where she has served for over 20 years.  Venessa oversees six hospitals, specialty pharmacy, six retail pharmacies, 2 nursing homes, and Correctional Health Services across Miami Dade County with a drug spend of over $100 million dollars a year and close to 500 employees.  Venessa is also the Residency Program Director for the ASHP PGY2 Residency in HSPAL.
