SPEAKERS
Tyler A. Vest, Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS is a Pharmacy Manager of Automated Dispensing Cabinetry and Controlled Substances and an Interim Pharmacy Coordinator of Medication Delivery Services at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. In this position, he oversees the automated dispensing cabinets, medication delivery and distribution, and controlled substances for the department of pharmacy. Tyler is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Tyler completed his Pre-Pharmacy Studies at the University of Kentucky, and his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. He is also a recent graduate of the Master of Science Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a Specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration Program at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Tyler completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency Programs at the University of North Carolina Medical Center. His current interest areas are Acute Care Operations, Leadership Development, Oncology, Practice and Pharmacy Technician Advancement, Pharmacy Practice and Distribution Models, Productivity and Monitoring, and The Medication Use Process. Tyler is actively involved in the profession. On the state level, he is actively involved in the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists (NCAP). On a national level, Tyler is involved in several roles in ASHP, most recently completing a service of Chair, New Practitioners Forum.
Kellie L.E Musch, Pharm.D., M.S., is the Pharmacy Site Manager at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH. Dr. Musch graduated with her PharmD from Ohio Northern University in 2015. After graduation, she went on to complete a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. Concurrently, she completed her Masters in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at the Ohio State University in 2017. Her first role after residency was the Pharmacy Manager supporting Freestanding Emergency Departments at OhioHealth. Outside of day to day job responsibilities at OhioHealth, Dr. Musch is a preceptor in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency for a longitudinal professional development rotation and coordinator for the PGY1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. Additionally, she serves as co-chair for marketing and communication of the WE LEAD BRG (Women Empowering Leaders, Educators, Administrators, and Doctors Business Resource Group). Professionally, Dr. Musch serves as Vice Chair of the 2019-20 ASHP New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee and she is actively involved in the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP) on the Educational Affairs Division.
Megan Adelman, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCGP, CDE is a family medicine clinical pharmacy specialist at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medicine Center in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Adelman graduated from the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio in 2015. She completed her PGY1 at Carolinas Medical Center/Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC and her PGY2 in geriatrics at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She served on the New Practitioner Career Development Advisory Group from 2015-2019, followed by the ASHP New Practitioner Executive Committee from 2019-2020.
Dr. Claire Latiolais, Pharm.D., M.S. is faculty at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy (UTCOP) in 2018 and currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Latiolais graduated from Purdue University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2015. She went on to complete an ASHP accredited Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency in The Houston Program at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Along with this program, she completed her Master’s in Pharmacy Leadership and Administration from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Her role includes serving as the Course Coordinator for the Institutional Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (I-IPPE). Additionally, her responsibilities include teaching Drug Information, Applied Pharmacy Management, Clinical Skills, Hospital Pharmacy, as well as serving as the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) faculty advisor. Dr. Latiolais is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) where she served on the 2019-2020 New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee.
Carolyn A. Magee, Pharm.D., BCCCP is currently the Medical−Surgical ICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Studies from the University of Kansas and her Pharm.D. from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Carolyn completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency at University of Kentucky HealthCare, Lexington, KY. Her research has been recognized by winning the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Section Young Pharmacist Investigator Award and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Critical Care PRN Publication of the Year Award, both in 2018. She is actively involved in ASHP recently completing a term on the New Practitioner Forum Executive Committee and previously serving on Clinical Practice and Career Development Advisory Groups. She is also engaged in SCCM serving on the Item Writing Committee, the CPP Section Research Committee as chair of the research consult service and the CPP Membership Committee as chair of the Conference Mentorship Program. Carolyn precepts many of the 35 residents at MUSC on rotation and as a clinical specialist backup on-call. She also serves as an advisor for the PGY1, PGY2 Critical Care, and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residents at MUSC.
