The ASHP Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI) 2030 provides aspiration guidance and is intended to propel changes in pharmacy practice that will have a major impact on the responsible use of medicines. Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHPs) are actively promoting the pillars of PAI 2030 within their chapters. In this podcast episode, we will highlight examples of how to incorporate PAI into SSHP initiatives.

Diana Dang is a third-year student at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She served as President of her SSHP and was a member of the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum Advisory Group. She is a pharmacy intern at Wellstar Health System and is also involved with research in critical care pharmacotherapy. Her career interests are in critical care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
Andrew Darley, PharmD, MEd, BCPS, is a faculty member at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He serves as Director of Professional Education for UGA and is responsible for leadership of the college’s PharmD. curriculum. He also serves as Associate IPPE Director for the college and coordinates its health system IPPE program. He is advisor to the UGA College of Pharmacy student chapter of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists, an officially recognized SSHP.
Emma Fay is a member of the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy Class of 2023. Emma grew up in Tolland, Connecticut, and did her undergraduate studies in biology and anthropology with a concentration in health professions at the University of Alabama before moving to Chapel Hill for pharmacy school. Her career interests lie in nuclear pharmacy and clinical pharmacy practice in hospital settings.
Aliya Abdulla is a current fourth-year PharmD candidate at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. During her time as a student pharmacist, Aliya has served as a leader for APhA-ASP, DSAC, the UGA SSHP, AACP as a Walmart Scholar, an ASHP Advisory Group, and ACCP committees. Professional interests include pursuing a PGY1/PGY2 in critical care with hopes to be involved with academia. She is excited to further her education through every opportunity.
