Readjust and Refocus: Experiences with the Phase II Match

This episode shares the experiences of pharmacists that went through the Phase II Match. Listeners will learn about their pharmacy school career goals, feelings on Phase I Match Day, and how they prepared and refocused to enter into the Phase II Match.

SPEAKERS

Alisha VoraAlisha Vora is PGY2 Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Resident at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Alisha is originally from Michigan and received her BS in Neuroscience with a minor in Applied Statistics at University of Michigan. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Alisha is a current member of the New Practitioners Forum’s Resident Advancement Advisory Group.

Charnae RossDr. Charnae Ross is originally from Atlanta, GA. She earned her PharmD from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL. She completed a combined PGY1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health and a Master of Science in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Ross has been an active member of ASHP. She was recently appointed to serve as the vice chair of the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee.

Gina LuchenDr. Luchen serves as the ASHP director of Member Relations for the Sections of Pharmacy Educators and Community Pharmacy Practitioners. In this role, Dr. Luchen leads initiatives that influence practice and education across the care continuum. Dr. Luchen completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas, a postgraduate year 1 Community-Based Residency with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and Balls Food Stores, and the Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management at ASHP.

Autmn PinardAutumn Pinard is a fourth-year student pharmacist at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2019. In addition to completing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Autumn recently completed a Master’s in Business Administration. Autumn has been an active student leader holding numerous leadership positions in pharmacy organizations. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee.
