In June 2020, a new consensus guideline was published in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy that changed therapeutic drug monitoring recommendations for vancomycin from troughs to AUC. This change has created significant controversy across the nation. Today, we are hoping to settle some of these controversies.

SPEAKERS

Kimberly JohnstoneKimberly Johnstone is a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Resident at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She is originally from Washington state and attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate degree. She went to pharmacy school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She is interested in careers in critical care and hematology/oncology.

Mackenzie DeVineMackenzie DeVine completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training at Children's Hospital Colorado followed by a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy residency focused in Infectious Disease and Critical Care. After residency, she stayed on at Children's Hospital Colorado and accepted a position as a Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist. She is excited for the opportunity to be a moderator for today's podcast.

Kailynn DeRondeKailynn DeRonde earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed her PGY-1 residency in Pediatric Pharmacy Practice at Children’s Hospital Colorado. After her PGY-1, she went on to obtain a PGY-2 residency certificate in Infectious Diseases from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the University of Connecticut. She now practices as an Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist at Holtz Women and Children’s Hospital/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Jason ChildJason Child completed his Bachelor and Doctor of Pharmacy at Washington State University. He completed a residency in Pediatric Pharmacy Practice at Children's Hospital Colorado. He has worked at Children's Hospital Colorado as the HIV / Infectious Diseases Pharmacist since 2001 and in 2011 started the Handshake Stewardship program as the Co-Director.
