SPEAKERS

Kathryn MerkelKathryn G. Merkel is the Division Director of Clinical Pharmacy for the Central and West Texas Division of St. David’s Healthcare/HCA, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a BA from Vanderbilt University and a Pharm.D. from UNC Chapel Hill. Kathryn is a Board Certified Pediatric and Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Specialist. She serves as the Clinical/Hospital APPE coordinator for the Austin-Temple-Waco region. Her interests include antimicrobial stewardship, quality/process improvement, and public education on antimicrobial resistance.

Kelly GambleKelly Gamble is from Marietta, GA. She completed her undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech and obtained her PharmD from the University of Georgia. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas where she is currently the PGY-2 infectious diseases pharmacy resident. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to see friends, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Her professional interests include precepting, stewardship, gram-positive bacteremia, and penicillin allergies.
