Trisha Askins-BaileyTrista Askins-Bailey, Pharm.D., BCGP, BCPS, is Assistant Professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the Geriatrics Division at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy. Dr. Bailey’s academic responsibilities include didactic lessons, laboratory teaching, facilitating case-based learning, and precepting geriatric clerkships. She also practices as a consultant pharmacist for two nursing homes and an assisted living facility in the Abilene area. Her duties include monthly chart reviews, medication pass observations, nursing education, and drug destruction for approximately 120 patients.

Dr. Bailey received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from Texas Tech University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Texas at Austin/The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She also completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 ambulatory care/geriatrics focused residency with the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Bailey is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Dana CarrollDana Carroll, Pharm.D., B.S.Pharm., BCGP, BCPS, CDE, is Associate Clinical Professor at the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and University Medical Center Department of Family Medicine in Northport, Alabama. Her clinical practice at University Medical Center focuses on providing direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team in a geriatric clinic and transitions of care clinic. She provides one-on-one patient education and drug therapy consults in diabetes and serves as part of an interdisciplinary team to delivery diabetes self-management classes. Dr. Carroll teaches pharmacy students, pharmacy practice residents, and family medicine residents in her clinical practice and academic appointment within the School of Pharmacy and Department of Family Medicine.

Dr. Carroll received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Auburn University School of Pharmacy and completed an ASHP-accredited Primary Care Residency at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Carroll is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist. She has worked as a clinical pharmacist in the emergency department at Duke University Medical Center and served as faculty at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa (2001-2006). She also holds adjunct faculty appointments with the College of Community Health Sciences Family Medicine Department and the Psychology Department at the University of Alabama.

Carol FoxCarol Fox, Pharm.D., BCGP, is Associate Professor at the University of South Florida College of Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmacotherapeutics and Clinical Research. She is an ambulatory care pharmacist at an independent living center where she serves as a preceptor for advanced practice pharmacy students on their geriatric rotation and PGY1 and PGY2 residents.

Dr. Fox obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy and completed a Geriatric Pharmacy Practice residency at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Carolina. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist.

Lisa HutchisonLisa C. Hutchison, Pharm.D., M.P.H., BCPS, FCCP, is Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She practices clinical pharmacy at the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and has been Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy since 1992.

Dr. Hutchison earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis and completed a residency in Clinical Pharmacy at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She obtained her Masters in Public Health from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Hutchison won the Award for Achievement in the Professional Practice of Pharmacy in Organized Health Care Settings from ASHP and the American Pharmacists Association Distinguished Achievement Award in Hospital and Institutional Practice. She is also co-editor of the textbook Fundamentals of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy.

Jill JohnsonJill R. Johnson, Pharm.D., M.H.A., BCPS, is Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. As a clinical pharmacy specialist with the Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Lexington, Kentucky, and Memphis, Tennessee, her roles have included providing geriatric clinical pharmacy services to veterans in the Community Living Center and Home Based Primary Care programs, providing pain and symptom management services to hospice and palliative care patients as a member of the Palliative Care Consult Team, and providing ambulatory care clinical pharmacy services to veterans in the Community Based Outpatient Clinic.

Dr. Johnson earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with emphasis in geriatrics at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis, and obtained a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Kentucky Martin School of Public Policy and Administration. She is also a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Sunny LinneburSunny Linnebur, Pharm.D., BCGP, BCPS, FASCP, FCCP, is Professor of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Linnebur’s clinical practice area is in geriatrics at the University of Colorado Hospital Seniors Clinic, where she precepts pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents. Her research and clinical areas of interest include medication therapy management, osteoporosis, vitamin D, dementia, urologic disorders, and medication safety.

Dr. Linnebur earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas; completed a PGY1 residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Denver, Colorado; and a PGY2 Primary Care Residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. Linnebur is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Geriatrics Society, where she serves as a member of the Board of Directors, and is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Maria ShinMaria Shin, Pharm.D., BCGP, BCPS, is Assistant Professor at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and a Clinical Pharmacist at Robley Rex Louisville VA Medical Center. In addition to her academic appointment, Dr. Shin practices internal medicine at the Louisville VA Medical Center.

Dr. Shin earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University; completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY; and a PGY2 Geriatrics Residency at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, AR. During her residency programs, she served as clinical instructor at Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy at Long Island University and The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy, respectively. Dr. Shin is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Arnie Taggart BlaszczykAmie Taggart Blaszczyk, Pharm.D., BCGP, BCPS, FASCP, is Associate Professor of Geriatric Pharmacy Practice and the Division Head of Geriatrics at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy on the Dallas/Fort Worth campus with an affiliated practice with Senior Care Centers. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University and completed a pharmacy practice residency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a specialty residency in geriatric pharmacotherapy in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Taggart Blaszczyk focuses on the population level interventions which can positively affect the quality of care of long-term care residents. She also serves as the residency director for the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacotherapy residency program.

Dr. Taggart Blaszczyk’s practice and research interests include neurodegenerative diseases affecting older individuals, senior education, and the impact of a clinical pharmacist working in the long-term care setting. She is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), is the President of the Texas chapter of ASCP, and serves on the editorial board of The Consultant Pharmacist. She is also an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Taggart Blaszczyk is a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, and a Fellow of the ASHP.
