Pharmacy Informatics Education and Training for Pharmacists

Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 2:00-3:00 pm ET

Pharmacy practice tools have changed from counting trays and typewriters to automated dispensing machines and electronic health records. Doctor of pharmacy graduates must understand the design and use of electronic and other technology-based systems, yet most schools of pharmacy do not offer courses in pharmacy informatics. It is imperative for future practitioners to have an understanding of pharmacy informatics and entry-level competency with regards to health information technology and automation utilized in the medication use process.
