The Section Executive Committees of the Sections are composed of Section members elected each summer to one of the following offices:
- Chair - serves three years. (First year as Chair-Elect, second year as Chair, third year as Immediate Past-Chair)
- Director-at-Large (DAL) - serves three years. (First year as DAL-Elect, and second and third year as Director-at-Large)
The Executive Committee directs the activities and programs of the Section and advises ASHP staff on ways to better meet the needs of ASHP's section members. The Executive Committee meets twice a year at the ASHP Summer Meetings in June and at ASHP's Midyear Clinical Meeting in December. Frequent e-mail communication and teleconferences are also included in Executive Committee member responsibilities.
