Executive Committee

The role of the Section Executive Committee is to provide leadership, guidance, and advice to ASHP on ways to better meet the day to day practice needs of members.

Chair (2023-2024)

Nancy MacDonald, PharmD, BSPharm, BCPS, FASHP

Nancy MacDonaldNancy C. MacDonald is the Coordinator of Transitions of Care and Emergency Preparedness at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and Adjunct Faculty at Wayne State University (WSU) Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy. She is responsible for designing and implementing initiatives for patients to safely transition from all areas of care within the health system and ensuring the pharmacy department can sustain services in emergencies. MacDonald received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Wayne State University and her PharmD from Shenandoah University. She completed the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy. MacDonald has been active with ASHP and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the ASHP Section Advisory Group (SAG) on Clinical Leadership. She is a previous member of the SAG for Preceptor Development. She was a ASHP Practice Advancement Initiative 2030 advisory panel member and ASHP Statement on the Role of the Pharmacist in Emergency Preparedness 2022 Update workgroup member. She also serves as a reviewer for ASHP midyear education session proposals and the CV review program. She has been active with local and state affiliate chapters, serving as a Board member for the Southeastern Michigan Society of Health System Pharmacists, President of the Michigan Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP) and a MSHP alternate delegate for the ASHP House of Delegates. She was recognized as a Fellow with ASHP in 2017.

Immediate Past Chair (2023-2024)

Christi A. Jen, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FAzPA

Christi JenChristi Jen is the pharmacy clinical manager and PGY1 residency program director at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center In Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to coordinating clinical activities locally, she oversees the clinical practice and operations of the network’s emergency medicine pharmacists and serves on various network committees representing pharmacy services.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy, Jen pursued PGY1 residency training at Maricopa Medical Center (now known as Valleywise Health) in Phoenix, Arizona. Thereafter, Jen spent over 11 years in emergency medicine as a clinical pharmacy specialist, establishing the facility’s clinical pharmacy services in the ED and serving on network-wide committees to develop clinical practices. During this tenure as the EM Specialist, she served as preceptor for students and residents, established the PGY1 residency program as its director, and provided education to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and EMS personnel.

Jen’s involvement with ASHP began as a member of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists (SCSS) Advisory Group (SAG) on Emergency Care, chairing the subgroup to organize and revamp the resource center and presented various presentations on its behalf. Jen served as chair of the SAG on Preceptor Skills Development, a member of the Year-Round Educational Steering Committee, and now a member of the SAG on Clinical Leadership. In addition, Jen has been a delegate for Arizona to the ASHP House of Delegates since 2013 and served as Arizona’s director-at-large (president) of ASHP’s state affiliate. Lastly, Jen recently served as chair of the ASHP Council on Therapeutics, an experience she noted to be the one of the most rewarding as an ASHP member.

Megan Musselman, PharmD, MS, BCCCP, BCEMP, BCPS, DPLA, FASHP, FCCP

Megan MusselmanMegan Musselman, is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program Director at North Kansas City Hospital. She received her Pharm.D. from Creighton University and went on to complete her PGY1 at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago and her PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency at the Detroit Receiving Hospital, where she served as chief resident.

Musselman currently serves on the Section of Clinical Scientists and Specialists Clinical Leadership Section Advisory Group.  She has previously served on the Clinical Scientists and Specialists Section Advisory Group on Emergency Medicine and as the Emergency Care Network Facilitator and a former Director-at-Large of the Section.  She is also an active member of the Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists, currently serving on the Research and Education committee.  She is also a past Treasurer and Chair of the Education and Programing Committee.

Director-at-Large (2022-2024)

Brian A. Potoski, PharmD, BCPS, (AQ-ID)

Brian PotoskiBrian A. Potoski is associate professor, University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, and antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In these roles he teaches and precepts students in didactic and experiential learning settings and has longstanding experience at leading antimicrobial stewardship efforts to ensure safe, effective, and responsible antimicrobial use.

Potoski earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and completed both PGY1 pharmacy Practice and PGY2 infectious diseases residencies at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Potoski currently serves ASHP as a member of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists Meeting Planning Educational Steering Committee and as the ASHP representative to the Infectious Diseases Society of America intra-abdominal practice guidelines working group. Previous ASHP service includes the Council on Therapeutics, Antimicrobial Resistance Task Force, and Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists infectious diseases roundtable discussion leader.

Director-at-Large (2022-2025)

Andrew Mays, PharmD, MBA, BCNSP, CNSC, FASPEN

Andrew MaysAndrew Mays, is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Nutrition Support at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he serves as leader of the institution’s Adult Nutrition Support Service. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, where he assists with nutrition support education. Mays graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Pharm.D. and then completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. His service to ASHP began as a member followed by chair of the New Practitioners Forum Membership and Outreach Advisory Group. Mays has also served as Nutrition Support Network Facilitator for the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists and as a member of the Council on Therapeutics. Mays has been a delegate for Mississippi to the ASHP House of Delegates since 2020 and currently is a member of the Clinical Specialists and Scientists Educational Steering Committee. Mays is also a Past-President of the Mississippi Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and served as a reviewer and presenter for the ASHP-ASPEN Nutrition Support Certificate Program.

Director-at-Large Elect (2023-2024)

Megan A. Corrigan, PharmD, MPH, BCPS, FASHP

Megan CorriganMegan A. Corrigan is the Director of Pharmacy and Emergency Management at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Illinois. Corrigan received her Pharm.D. from Midwestern University and her Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University. Corrigan completed her PGY1 residency at Rush University Medical Center and her PGY2 in Emergency Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital.  Additionally, Corrigan was recognized as a Fellow of ASHP in 2023. Corrigan is active in the field of public health at the local level within the Department of Public Health, sitting on the Opiate Task Force, as well as serving on a federal disaster response team nationally. Corrigan has a passion for emergency preparedness and has spoken nationally on the pharmacist role in emergency preparedness. Corrigan has been active in ASHP by serving on the Council on Therapeutics, the Section Advisory Groups for Emergency Medicine and Clinical Leadership. In addition, Corrigan co-authored ASHP’s Statement on the Role of the Pharmacy Workforce in Emergency Preparedness. Corrigan is also an active member of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists, currently serving as the Director of Professional Affairs and serves as an Illinois representative to the ASHP House of Delegates.

Vicki Basalyga, PharmD, MAS, BCPS, BCPPS
Director, Member Relations
Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists

Vicki BasalygaVicki Basalyga is the Director for the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists. In this role Vicki serves as an information resource and provides guidance to ASHP members regarding science and scientific developments affecting pharmacy practice in health systems. She serves as secretary to the Section executive committee and coordinates activities to accomplish the objectives established by the Section. Additionally, Vicki has assumed the position of Council Secretary for the ASHP's Council on Therapeutics. 

Vicki received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University and completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Vicki is also a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Specialist.  

Prior to her current position at ASHP, Vicki practiced as critical care pharmacist in both the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Other activities Vicki performed included drafting policies and procedures, co-chairing the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, creating and drafting order sets for CPOE conversion and precepting residents and students.
