SCPP Advisory Groups

ASHP's Section of Community Pharmacy Practitioners has four Section Advisory Groups (SAG). These advisory groups help you engage with ASHP and colleagues who share the same interests as you.

Business Development and Practice Excellence


  1. Promote operational excellence in community pharmacy practice
  2. Promote practice excellence for community pharmacy practice
  3. Support business growth and innovation for community pharmacy practice

Community Pharmacy Workforce


  1. Advance the roles of community-based pharmacy practitioners
  2. Advance the roles of community-based pharmacy technicians
  3. Support the well-being and resilience of the community pharmacy workforce
  4. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity among the community pharmacy workforce

Education, Communication, and Training


  1. Provide education and training to community pharmacists on how to better engage with patients and build relationships of trust
  2. Enhance educational and training opportunities in the community pharmacy setting
  3. Strengthen relationships between community pharmacy practitioners, interprofessional colleagues or payers

Patient Care


  1. Promote the role of community pharmacy practitioners in care transitions
  2. Enhance the role of community pharmacy practitioners in the care of patients

Additional Opportunities

Community-Based Pharmacy Resident Network 

PGY1 community-based pharmacy residents or combined PGY1 community-based/ PGY2 administration and leadership residents can become involved with the ASHP Community-Based Pharmacy Resident Network. This group meets once a month, and all community-based residents are welcomed.
