Yale New Haven Health

I would like to recognize the incredible efforts of the ambulatory pharmacy team of pharmacists, technicians, and leadership at Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS).

At the beginning of April with less than a week’s notice, the team collaborated with YNHHS Heart and Vascular leadership and nurses to take over the anticoagulation management for ~1400 patients in two of their clinics. This allowed for the nurses to be redeployed to support the inpatient surge of COVID-19 patients.

I heard numerous stories from the front lines of the gratitude patients and their caregivers had for keeping them and their loved ones safe and healthy during the pandemic, as well as the appreciation for their caring outreach calls during the quarantine. I am immensely proud of this team’s collaborative efforts in caring for patients and each other during the pandemic and wanted to recognize them.

Marie M. Renauer, PharmD, MBA, BCACP, is associate director of Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Services at Yale New Haven Health.
