Reason for the Shortage

- Apotex has ondansetron injection available.
- Avet has ondansetron injection available.
- AuroMedics is no longer marketing ondansetron injection.
- Fosun has ondansetron injection available.
- Fresenius Kabi did not provide a reason for the shortage.
- Hikma did not provide a reason for the shortage.
- Viatris discontinued ondansetron 2 mL vials in December 2021 and the 20 mL vials were discontinued in June 2022.
- Pfizer has ondansetron injection on back order due to manufacturing delays.
- Sagent has ondansetron injection available. The 20 mL vials were discontinued in 2021.
- Novartis discontinued Zofran 20 mL vials in May 2018.

Estimated Resupply Dates

- Fresenius Kabi is launching ondansetron 2 mg/mL 2 mL RFID syringes in mid-April 2024.
- Hikma has ondansetron 2 mg/mL 20 mL vials on back order and the company estimates a release date of late-April to early-May 2024.
- Pfizer has ondansetron 2 mg/mL 2 mL and 20 mL vials on back order and the company estimates a release date of May 2024 for the 2 mL vials and July 2024 for the 20 mL vials.
