- 6% hetastarch in 0.9% sodium chloride intravenous injection, Pfizer, 6 gram/100 mL, 500 mL flexible container, 12 count, NDC 00409-7248-03

Reason for the Shortage

- BBraun discontinued Hespan in 2022.
- Pfizer has hetastarch in sodium chloride on shortage due to increased demand. Hextend (hetastarch in lactated electrolytes) is not affected by this shortage.
- Pfizer is the sole supplier.
