Graduation Year: 2021

Reasons for selecting pharmacy:
I chose pharmacy as a career to make a positive impact on my community and improve the wellbeing of patients through safe medication use. The profession offers a multitude of career paths as pharmacists have the ability to make interventions in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition, there are many opportunities to engage with students and other healthcare practitioners.

Professional Interests:

  • Academia
  • Ambulatory Care
  • Solid Organ Transplant
  • Health-System Pharmacy Administration

Interest in the PSF Executive Committee:

I first became interested in involvement with ASHP after observing the organization’s strong commitment to enhancing student development. The vast amount of career development resources and leadership opportunities within the organization has kept me professionally engaged throughout pharmacy school. As a student pharmacist, I have had the opportunity to serve as president of my local SSHP, build relationships and network within my state affiliate, and serve as a member of the Pharmacy Student Forum Career and Leadership Development Advisory Group. Each of these experiences have been enriching and vital to my growth as a student pharmacist. As I transitioned into my final year of pharmacy school, I knew I wanted to continue my involvement with ASHP. The Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee provided the perfect opportunity to continue my personal and professional growth, give back to the organization, and help other students pharmacists across the country prepare to become next generation of health-system pharmacists. I look forward to serving in this capacity!

How being a member of ASHP has assisted in my personal and professional development:

ASHP has provided me with several experiences that have aided in my personal and professional development. Involvement in ASHP has allowed me to further develop my leadership skills through leadership opportunities within the organization and access to multiple resources. In addition, I found the CV Review Program to be extremely valuable in helping me refine my CV. Attendance at the ASHP Summer Meeting and Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exposition has allowed me to build upon my professional network through interactions with other students, residents, and health-system practitioners nationwide.

Goals for the year as a PSFEC Member:

  • Support the professional development of student members
  • Encourage collaboration between SSHP chapters and state affiliates
  • Provide students with resources to further develop their SSHP chapters
  • Address the needs of students and SSHP chapters to further enhance the membership experience

Fun Fact: I am a huge fan of all things Nintendo!
