Reasons for selecting this career path
Throughout pharmacy school at the University of Pittsburgh, I had a goal to graduate and help children maintain happy and healthy lives. Completion of a pediatric pharmacy residency exposed me to the variety of subspecialties within pediatric pharmacy practice and allowed me to find my clinical interests in caring for the pediatric population. As my mentor at University of Kentucky would say, “nothing comes before the care of a sick child.”

Interest in the NPF Executive Committee
I became involved with ASHP in pharmacy school when I sat on the Pharmacy Student Forum Student Society Development Advisory Group. As a new practitioner, I have served the past two years on the New Practitioner Forum Career Development Advisory Group. I enjoy working with the people in this organization to advocate for and advance our profession. I look forward to participating on the NPF Executive Committee and contributing to the growth of new practitioners and their important role in advancing pharmacy practice.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner
The ASHP New Practitioners Forum is a great opportunity to make connections and establish relationships with other new practitioners across the country. Active engagement within this group has allowed me to develop leadership skills. The New Practitioner Forum has allowed me to further my commitment to the profession and also assisted with the transition from student to resident and now as a new clinical practitioner.
Fun Fact
My favorite thing to do is travel; I have been to 18 countries and it is on my bucket list to watch a game at all the baseball stadiums in the U.S.
