ASHP MEMBER SINCE 1999

David D. Allen, R.Ph., Ph.D., Professor and Dean of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, feels blessed to have worked with so many amazing pharmacy students and faculty throughout his career. “Their success is what drives me and brings me the greatest satisfaction,” he said.

David joined ASHP in 1999 when he was a faculty member at the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. “I knew that I wanted to remain close to the profession, so ASHP was a great way to do that in addition to being able to have a wonderful networking opportunity,” he said. “The ASHP members and ASHP staff that I have gotten to meet and know have made it a special experience from the very beginning.”

He was recognized as an ASHP Fellow in 2004, has been involved with numerous ASHP councils, and served as a delegate in the ASHP House of Delegates, which “involved many great moments,” said David.

He advises student pharmacists to find opportunities to engage and give back to the profession. “I do this personally because pharmacy has been so good to me,” said David.
