Barbara Hintzen is the Pharmacy Program Manager at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, Minnesota where she oversees purchasing, medication contracting, revenue integrity and 340B compliance. She earned her BA in Business from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Ms. Hintzen also attended Century College and the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Ms. Hintzen has been involved with state and national professional pharmacy organizations throughout her career. She was appointed as Chair of the inaugural ASHP Pharmacy Technician Forum Executive Committee in 2018-2019 and Chair of the Forum’s Practice Advancement and Advocacy Advisory Group in 2020. Ms. Hintzen is currently serving her third term as a member of the ASHP Council on Pharmacy Practice.

She has also served as the Technician Board Member-at-Large for the Minnesota Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP) and is the current co-chair of the MSHP Pharmacy Technician Advisory Committee. Ms. Hintzen is a career technician who has advocated and shared her experiences. She has been published in AJHP and has presented at both state and national professional organizations on advanced technician roles and shared the success of utilizing pharmacy technician in expanded roles.
