Why I do what I do:

I love being a pharmacy technician, we get to be the people behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly. We often get overlooked, but I don't mind being an unsung hero.

Latest Accomplishment:

After graduating with my degree in health science, I felt a pull to stay in my current field of 13 years. After a travel job in Hawaii, I landed here at Cleveland Clinic where they gave me a shot to advance where I thought there was no advancement. I feel like a valuable member of the medication safety team, somewhere I never thought I would be.

Most Memorable Experience as a Pharmacy Technician:

My most memorable experience as a technician was hitting the last key stoke on the PTCB test and seeing the pass flash across the screen. That was the first step in advancement.

Why I Became certified (if applicable):

I became certified because I wanted to learn more than brand to generic and sig codes. Passing the PTCB open doors that were previously close.

My Passion Outside of Work:

Outside of the pharmacy, I'm a single mother to a loving 1-year old. I'm very passionate about giving him adventures, and lots of outdoor play. I also coach kids summer track team for shot put.

Latest Book Read:

My latest read was Becoming by Michelle Obama

Advice to Up-and-Coming Technicians:

My advice to upcoming technicians is to not give up or give in. The road maybe rocky at times but there is advancement available for us if you work hard and put in the time.
