When did you first join ASHP?
With my sights set on pursuing a residency post-graduation, I joined ASHP at the beginning of my first year at Auburn University's Harrison College of Pharmacy. ASHP has equipped me with a vast amount of resources and provided various learning and networking opportunities. Ever since I joined, I haven't looked back!

What is your current involvement with the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum (i.e. advisory group or executive committee appointment)?
I have recently been appointed as Vice Chair for the Pharmacy Student Forum Advisory Group on Residency Preparation. Throughout the past year, I have served the same group as a Work Group Lead and focused on promoting new and existing residency resources. I am very excited for the year ahead

What is your favorite part of your ASHP student membership? What has been most beneficial about being a student member of ASHP?
Getting to collaborate and form relationships with pharmacy students across the nation is my favorite part of being involved with ASHP. There are many resources ASHP provides for students to grow professionally, network, and stay up to date on pharmacy advancements. There is no better way to explore and promote these than with other students!

What is your favorite memory from an ASHP event, project, or program?
Last fall, I worked alongside other students involved in the Residency Preparation Advisory Group to create a guide for students to be able to better navigate the ASHP Residency Directory. This was my favorite project, because we were able to put our different interests and skills together to create a document that can be used by every single pharmacy student. Not only did I learn more about the Residency Directory, but I learned more about and grew closer to my peers as well.

What advice do you have for pharmacy students seeking to become involved in national organizations?
Becoming involved in a national organization can seem very intimidating, and the thought of submitting your name for a position is oftentimes daunting. My advice for anyone even remotely interested is to jump right in! "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take," may be a cliché quote; however, it could not be more true. Being involved in a national organization has helped me grow, and challenged me in ways I would not have otherwise, and for that I am forever grateful.
