Advice for Someone New to Specialty Area

"One of the most important steps in developing a successful pharmacy service is establishing relationships not only with patients, but with other members of the healthcare team. Being readily available and always willing to help (even with the small things) will help establish you as a dependable practitioner. Developing relationships among other healthcare practitioners will open more doors in creating new clinical services."

Value of ASHP

"I became involved with ASHP during pharmacy school because I was interested in pursuing a residency. I have continued to become more involved with ASHP because of all of the things that ASHP is able to offer including professional development, networking and mentoring opportunities. One of my favorite things about being a member of ASHP is that I can stay connected with other practitioners and learn how they are developing sustainable pharmacy services around the country. "
