Initial Involvement in ASHP

As a student who was interested in completed post graduate residency training, I was interested in what ASHP had to offer through its resources as well as its dedication to have such established accreditation standards for all the residency programs in the country. In addition, their ability to have the largest pharmacist meeting each year as it continues to grow every year at the Midyear Clinical Meeting is truly mind-blowing for again you are able to see so many bright minds get together. It was because of this that I was heavily involved throughout school with our student chapter by being involved on e-board as well as through collaboration with other pharmacy organizations across campus; now being a new practitioner post residency, I intend to continue to be involved as we continue to strive for a better world in pharmacy and continue to shape the future of our profession.

Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area

I believe that being involved in pharmacy organizations as well as organizations specific to one's specialty is key to continued growth and success as a provider. Through membership and involvement in these organizations, you truly experience how far networking can go especially in the small world that pharmacy is. The great thing about being involved is the sense of community it brings; its so much more than just being a part of something but more about actually doing something and striving for change together that makes being involved so impactful and matter – its never too early or too late to get involved

Value of ASHP

ASHP is the organization that truly speaks volumes about the worth and value that we have and bring as providers. This organization embodies the values and mission of providing better patient care and ensures to work each day to strive for that excellence. They help be our voice on the big stage to make a differences. Through their ability to set standards and policies that we day to day follow to having such power in advocacy is just minimally explaining the depths of ASHP
