Toby’s Story

Dr. Trujillo earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California-San Francisco School of Pharmacy in 1994. He also studied Biochemistry at the University of California-Davis. His post Doctor of Pharmacy Training includes a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy/University Medical Center Department of Pharmacy Practice/Department of Pharmacy Services in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Trujillo completed his Residency in Pharmacy Practice at the University of California-San Francisco School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Trujillo’s current ASHP involvement includes serving on the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists’ Advisory Group on Clinical Leadership.

Facility

Dr. Trujillo’s clinical practice at the University of Colorado Hospital includes directing and staffing the Inpatient Anticoagulation - Thrombosis Management Service, as well as serving as co-chair of the Anticoagulation Subcommittee of P and T.

Significant Projects

Dr. Trujillo has most recently published in AJHP, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Drugs and Clinical Applied Thrombosis and Hemostasis on the many facets of anticoagulation. His research efforts continue to look at the practical application of anticoagulation into routine clinical practice.

Advice for Someone New to Your Specialty Area

“More and more today it is important for members of the pharmacy profession also take part in multidisciplinary organizations such as the American College of cardiology in order to advance their knowledge and skills within the specialty, but also to develop important connections to non-pharmacy professionals to continue to advance the concept of team-based care.”
